Dubai Clinches Coveted Title as No.1 Global Destination for Third Consecutive Year

Dubai has once again secured the top spot as the No.1 global destination in the 2024 Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards, making it the first city to achieve this recognition for three consecutive years in a row. This remarkable achievement underscores Dubai’s unparalleled appeal and solidifies its status as a world-class tourist destination.

Acknowledging this triumph, Sheikh Hamdan, Dubai’s Crown Prince, praised the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Just a year ago, Sheikh Mohammed outlined ambitious goals for Dubai’s tourism sector within the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, aiming to position Dubai among the Top 3 global economic cities and tourist destinations. Today, this vision has become a tangible reality.

The prestigious Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards, known for their meticulous evaluation of reviews and ratings across various subcategories, reaffirm Dubai’s dominance in the tourism sector. The assessment covered a 12-month period from October 2022 to September 2023, drawing on valuable insights from traveler feedback on Tripadvisor.

In this year’s rankings, Bali secured the second spot globally, closely followed by London, which retains its title as Europe’s premier destination and secures the third position globally. The Top 5 also features Hanoi in fourth place and Rome in fifth.

Notably, New York, the highest-ranking American destination, experienced a minor decline, moving from 23rd to 25th place. The rest of the Top 10 includes iconic cities such as Paris, Cancun, Marrakech, Crete, and Hoi An in Vietnam.
